| The vision
for the school is to have a full time school of two 2-month long classes
as soon as we have facilities for dormitories. At that time we will
offer a one week mission trip to a primitive area as part of the
training. With dormitory facilities, we will begin to take students from
other areas. While we are waiting for the funds for permanent
facilities, we are using this time to establish the school by holding
local Saturday classes, or evening classes. River of Life is more than a school, we are a
mission's training center and mission's organization, assisting
graduates in mission's placement.
River of Life is not a
traditional Bible school. We do not teach church doctrine. Each class is
designed with the missionary in mind. It is an intensive training course
to prepare the students to be successful missionaries. The school is for
those who already have Bible school training, or mature Christians who have received training
in their church. We began with local
students, with half day classes each Saturday. On May, 2003 we had our first
graduating class of ten students. In August, 2003 we began a second group of students
who graduated February 2004. In Guatemala, in 2005, we had 35 students. While we are nondenominational, we work with all
denominations.
We have connections in Panama, Guatemala, and all Central America,
Peru, China and Africa. We can offer placement for those who complete
the missions training course. We have former students who are
evangelizing and planting
churches in Panama and are asking me to send trained people to pastor
those churches.
